It’s increasingly easy these days to learn or practice mindfulness in an online course.
For example – for what I think may be the first time – you can learn mindfulness online from the man himself, Jon Kabat-Zinn. In 1979, Kabat-Zinn created the 8-week program now known as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. From what I can tell, the 8-week course “Opening to Our Lives” appears to be based on that curriculum. The course was offered for the first time in November 2019; you can sign up at the bottom of this page to be notified of future offerings.
For an entirely different perspective and approach, you could join UK-based author, photographer, and teacher Susannah Conway for a 28-day exploration titled “Open Your Eyes: Practicing Mindfulness in Everyday Life.” On each of the days, you receive an email containing a brief teaching, a short mindfulness exercise to try, and a photo prompt. The course will be offered again in June 2020; you can sign up here to be notified when registration opens.
These are just two examples of the many programs available. Try searching “online mindfulness training” to start exploring your options.
