Hi! I’m Cynthia. My mission is to help frazzled pharmacists discover mindfulness-based strategies for well-being and life balance so they can thrive, not just survive.
Although I’m a pharmacist by training, I’ve had a very nontraditional career. I held progressively responsible staff positions at several national pharmacy associations until I met my husband-to-be on a parking lot shuttle bus at Dulles Airport. I moved with him to Ann Arbor, Michigan, and started Artemis Health Care Communications, a consulting company that specializes in the development of written, live, and Web-based continuing education programs for pharmacists and other health care professionals.
I’m also one of the first board-certified health and wellness coaches in the country. I completed coaching training with both Duke Integrative Medicine and Coach U. I continue to try to learn as much as possible about the science of behavior change and the optimal application of coaching skills and tools to the goal-inspired change process.
Most important, I have more than 20 years of experience in mindfulness-based practices. I struggle with an anxiety disorder and was introduced to mindfulness by a (forward-thinking) therapist. I have studied with many prominent mindfulness teachers in many crowded (and usually cold) meditation halls. It is an honor to be able to share these concepts and practices with you.
